Something that I have noticed at every concert I have been to is that there are always certain types of people always there. I came up with a way to classify the types of people I have seen at every concert.
1. The Biggest Fan- this is the guy/gal who knows every lyric, the stage managers birthday, and always has the reserved seat up front. This person usually tries to get to the front of the line and ignores everyone else who has been waiting for a while.
2. The Traveler- This is usually a middle aged lady who has come a long way to see the show. She is usually very nice, but can be overbearing. She is always feeling the songs during soundcheck and dancing to the rhythm of the beat. She usually provides quality pre show entertainment.
3. The Guy with the Instrument- This guy is the ultimate optimist. This guy is usually a teenager or young 20's guy. He shows up with his instrument, usually guitar or harmonica. I don't know if he thinks he will provide intermission entertainment or a band will bring him on stage, but no matter what he's ready. Hopefully one time I'll get to see a guy bring a drum set or turn table.
4. The Security Guards- I made it plural because you can break it down to two groups. The security guard just trying to do his job and the security guards who takes his job a little too seriously. The first guy is just there to earn some cash, do his job, and go home. Usually this guy is a pretty nice guy if you just do what your told and show him respect. This guy and biggest fan usually have some type of conflict.
Guard: "Sir I'm gonna need you to wait like everyone else."
Fan: "But dude you don't understand I'm their biggest fan."
Guard: "That's great sir, no wait like everyone else."
Fan: "Why are you killing my good time and vibes bro." For some reason biggest fan calls everyone bro.
The other security guard is usually jacked up on lack of sleep from his job as a club bouncer or roids. Guy usually looks like Terry Crews, but unlike Terry Crews this guy has no sense of humor. He is not taking crap from anyone.
Guard: "Sir you need to calm down."
Casual concert attendee: "I'm sorry sir I was just trying to sit down."
Guard' " Oh you wanna give me sass huh."
CCA: "No sir, not at all."
Guard: "That's it you're gone."
5. The hey what's that guy doing here- This is usually the chaperone of the middle and high schoolers at the concert. The teens want nothing to do with the chaperone, so they ditch them first chance they get. This person is usually wearing a fanny pack to hold the camera and everyone's cotton candy money. Chances are chaperone is a fan of the band, but ultimately has to watch the show by his or her lonesome or with the other group of parents and grand parents that got ditched.
6. The opportunist- This guy is usually the biggest loser or winner of the night in the crowd. This is the guy who tries to hang around the back and when he notices a reserved seat is taken when the band starts, he pounces. Usually is sly and just tries to get a seat near the back so he won't make anyone mad. Sometimes though he can get a little overzealous and roid guard will take his frustrations out on him.
